Frequently Asked Questions about EOPS

The mission of EOPS is to assist students challenged by language, economic, and educational disadvantages. The program provides services to facilitate the successful completion of their academic goals.

Learning Outcome:
The student will be able to identify EOPS resources that will help them complete their educational goals.

Service Outcome:
The EOPS program will provide comprehensive services to eligible students to support the achievement of their educational goals.

The EOPS program is a state-funded supplemental support services program designed to assist qualified low-income and educationally disadvantaged students in completing their educational goals. The program provides the following services:

  • Academic counseling
  • University Transfer Assistance/Information
  • Campus visits (field trips)
  • Assistance with applications for admissions fee waivers
  • Cap and Gown for graduation
  • Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Tutoring
  • Book voucher services
  • Priority Registration
  • CARE Program — additional services for EOPS students who are single parents with child/children 14 years of age or younger and recipients of TANF (cash aid) or CalWorks

Don't jeopardize your EOPS Services for the upcoming semester!
Follow the recommended schedule to complete the three (3) required contacts for Spring 2022.

Contacts must be at least two (2) weeks apart for proper credit.

RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE

  • 1st counseling contact
    January 24th -  March 4th 
  • 2nd counseling contact
    March 7th - April 22nd
  • 3rd counseling contact
    April 25th - June 6th*
    (*LAST DAY FOR CONTACTS – June 6th*)

REMEMBER! DO NOT wait until the last portion of the semester to schedule contacts. Availability is very limited.

Service Limits

Under Title V, EOPS Students can receive services until they reach the following:

  • 6 semesters
  • 70 degree applicable units
  • Until you receive an Associates degree

We will serve you until whichever of these 3 comes first.
