The Fresh Success Program

The Fresh Success program at Los Angeles City College can help you:

Strengthen your employability through classes and training programs offered at LACC.
Receive supportive services such as education and career planning, counseling, success coaching, and tutoring.
Overcome financial barriers to college completion and employment by providing assistance with resources like:

• Textbooks
• Course & exam materials and fees
• Transportation assistance 
• Emergency rent/utility payments 

*Some resources have eligibility requirements

Combined with food assistance through CalFresh, Fresh Success supportive services and resources are in addition to financial aid and those offered by other special programs at LACC (except GAIN/CalWORKS). Students must be receiving CalFresh benefits in order to be eligible for the Fresh Success Program.

In addition to receiving CalFresh benefits, prospective Fresh Success participants must meet other criteria in order to qualify for the program. Filling out the Fresh Success Application and following the application steps below will allow Fresh Success staff to determine your eligibility.

Minimum eligibility for Fresh Success: 

• LACC = home campus
• Receiving, or eligible to receive, CalFresh benefits from LA County
• Not receiving CalWORKs benefits
• Have fewer than 90 completed units
• Enrolled in and pursuing a Career Technical Education, Vocational, Adult Basic Education, English Language Learning, or Basic Skills program at LACC
• Intend to work after graduating
