Introducing the New LACC Website

LACC has a new website!

In 2016, Los Angeles City College undertook the task of web site redesign and redevelopment of the web site, due for an overhaul since its last visual and information redesign over 10 years ago. A Website Task Force was formed to review prior and current usage statistics and gather feedback from a wide range of audience Focus Groups. From the resulting analytical reports, the web team heard that there was a strong need to rethink the site's information architecture, build new functional, easy-to-use applications such as dynamic calendars and news feeds, and plan for increased "mobile-centric" visitor access.

Editors worked with academic and service departments to re-organize thousands of content pages and files into 93 manageable department branches, that are easily accessed via global dropdown menus, audience-centric index pages, and a robust search tool. Faculty and staff web editors are currently being trained in editorial use of the Kentico Content Management System.

Greater Engagement

The new website features a dynamic Campus Calendar, and an array of Blogs to keep students and faculty engaged and up to date.

A Fully Responsive Design

The new LACC appears differently on a phone, tablet, and monitor. The new website has been purpose built to look good, and work well, on all devices. The design of the new site "responds" to the device it is presented on, and adjusts itself to fit that device.

A Focus on Accessibility

Additionally, the new website is fully compliant with ADA accessibility standards Level AA, as mandated by the California Community Colleges Chancellor' Office. Read more information about our Accessible Campus here.
