Leslie Ferreira

Leslie Ferreira (Director, Head of Acting) received his B.A. from UC Berkeley, his M.F.A. in Directing from Carnegie Mellon and is a member of SDC, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Two of his original works, Unto You and Within Us (co-directed with Tina Kronis), and three others, The Unseen Hand, The Dining Room, and the devised piecee AutoPLAY, performed at Kennedy Center/ACTF festivals.

He received three CreateLA grants through Dreamworks to work on the Mark Taper Forum's production of Expecting Isabel, on Warner Bros.' The West Wing, and to direct Closer at The Evidence Room. He directed the stage version of the Disney/Walden film Holes for Walden Entertainment.

At Odyssey Theatre Ensemble he directed Bloody Red Heart through a grant from the NEA and co-directed Untitled Warhol Project, which won six national awards, including Outstanding Lead Deviser/Director from KC/ACTF.

An Ovation Voter for the Los Angeles Theatre Alliance, he has sat on the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department Grant Panel for Dance. The Kennedy Center/ American College Theatre Festival honored him with its Faculty Fellowship in Directing for Outstanding Achievement as a Teaching Artist with their Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
