Biographical Statement:

Texas-born Professor Amy Tatum is a versatile flutist who is active in the Los Angeles recording and live performance community. As a recording artist, Professor Tatum performs on a variety of flutes for film, television, video game and popular music, and has recorded on the Summit, Capitol, XL and New World record labels. Professor Tatum's playing can be heard worldwide as the principal flute, alto flute, and bass flutist on all 4 seasons of ABC's hit series Revenge. She is featured as principal flute on numerous television series including Empire, Penny Dreadful, Galavant, Fringe, How I Met Your Mother, and special appearances on The Tonight Show and Access Hollywood. She was principal flute for the inaugural Score! concert presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrating music composed for television, and she recently played the Los Angeles premiere of The Godfather set to live orchestra. 

Professor Tatum holds an affinity for the music of video games, which she regards as one of her generation's most innovative creative media. She is the principal flute on Riot Games' League of Legends, and is a featured soloist on the newly released soundtrack. She performed the music live as a soloist for sold out crowds at LA's Video Games Live and Boston's PAX East conference. Professor Tatum has recorded on the scores of Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty:Black Ops, The Sims, Horn, and was heavily featured as flute and bass flute soloist in Austin Wintory's Grammy-nominated Journey score. 

Professor Tatum enjoys equaled passion for popular music, having recorded on albums by Alice Cooper, Devendra Banhart, Yellowcard, Little Joy (Rodrigo Amarante, Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes), Tall Tales and the Silver Lining, and Madeline Flash, of which she was a member. She appeared live with Wu Tang Clan at the Coachella music festival in 2013. Her film credits include Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along 2, Identity Thief, Cats & Dogs 2, Seven Pounds, 500 Days of Summer, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Marmaduke, Looney Tunes 3D Coyote Falls, The Kitchen Sink (2015 release), The True Cost (2015 release), and Broadway 4D (2015 release). 

Professor Tatum has appeared with numerous California orchestras including the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, LA Opera, Pasadena Symphony, New West Symphony, Muse/Ique chamber orchestra, and Long Beach Opera, and she plays principal flute in the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra. Professor Tatum thrives in the chamber music environment, and has appeared locally as part of the Jacaranda, Hear Now, Symbiosis, Improvisatory Minds, South Bay Chamber Music, and Beverly Hills International Music Festival series, and internationally with her woodwind quintet Midnight Winds on a multi-city concert tour of Poland. Her quintet was also featured at the Schneider Concert Series in New York and Chamber Music Sedona.
