Biographical Statement:
Dr. Ken Nagatani received both a Master of Music and a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Manuel Barrueco, and completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Southern California in 2006 as a student of William Kanengiser.
He has been the recipient of several honors and awards, including the Mary Pickford Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Classical Guitar and the Jack Marshall Memorial Scholarship while at USC. He has certified training in the Suzuki method, and has been active as a performer and teacher in Southern California for the past 24 years. He currently teaches Beginning Guitar at LACC.
