Biographical Statement:

RN, BSN-PHN, MA in Health Sciences, Certified Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Certified Continuing Education Provider, BLS CPR Instructor.

Personal Statement:

Professor Beverly Russell is a Board Certified Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Health Sciences from California State University, LA.

From 1983 to 2013 she worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Kaiser Permanente, LA Medical Center with subspecialties in: diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis control, HIV/AIDS, pre-op weight loss program/Bariatric surgery, and12 years in Hematology/Oncology caring for men and women with all types of cancers.

In 1990 Professor Russell completed course work at UCLA in Instructor Development and received her lifetime teaching credential for the California Community Colleges.  She in an Adjunct Professor of Health at Los Angeles City College since 1991.        In 2012 she received her certificate from the California Board of Registered Nursing as a Continuing Education Provider, and her certificate as a BLS CPR Instructor from the American Heart Association.  She writes on health issues and on December 13, 2012 she received the Expert Author Certificate and membership with Ezine Articles.com.

Professor Russell is a trained volunteer Breast Health Facilitator for the American Cancer Society. She also volunteers for the American Heart Association, Riverside Chapter and for Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles Speakers Bureau.

Her hobbies are: travelling, reading, cooking, listening to Jazz and, creating her “one of a kind” handmade jewelry.

Her lectures are dynamic, interactive and stress-free.  Professor Russell takes pride in the fact that she can share with her students her vast clinical experience as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner and, her 27 years of teaching Health at Los Angeles City College.
