News and Events for the week of March 9

Good Monday Morning:

I am beginning this week’s message by letting our LACC community know that the health and safety of our LACC campus is a top priority to me and to ensure everyone that we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus). Last week, due to increased spread of the virus, we activated our Incident Command Center so that we keep proactively engaged for any impact the virus may have in our community and on our campus. The LACCD has convened a group of administrators, faculty and staff to monitor the situation districtwide and develop districtwide plans for levels of involvement in our service areas. Please check our website for updates and information from the District.

Our enrollment has stayed at 4% above last year. That is great work on everyone’s part! It puts us somewhere between 100 and 200 FTES above last year. This will be the first year we have been above the prior year in enrollment in over 5 years. This is our road to recovery for our amazing college. We still have classes open for the late start, so please let students know to check availability for classes they need.
