News and Events for the week of June 1

Good Thursday Morning,

I apologize for my delay in getting this out to you. I had an extra-long weekend and so yesterday was very crazy!

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day. This week is final exams week, and we are now less than a week away from our virtual graduation that will take place on Tuesday, June 8 at 5pm. I hope you join in and watch. I had a chance to get a quick preview and it is fantastic. It was written, directed, and produced by our own Cinema-TV department under the watchful eye of Department Chair Jen Vaughn. Make plans to see it you will be amazed!

Staff Returning to Campus

Our LACC Management Team and Supervisors will return to on campus work next Monday, June 7. The return to campus is moving forward and this is an important step to our full re-engagement.

Vaccination Update

Regarding any District vaccination requirements for students, faculty, and staff, please be aware that the District’s Office of General Counsel is reviewing the implications of such a requirement. A decision has not been made regarding whether vaccinations will be required at this time.

Free Vaccinations at LACC

LACC is partnering with our Health Center provider, Wesley Clinic, to be an LA County vaccination site throughout the month of June. Beginning tomorrow, Friday, June 4, vaccinations will be available at LACC right outside the Student Union from 7am to 3pm. Vaccinations will be available those same hours every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June. Parking for vaccinations is in Lot 4. Vaccinations are free and no appointments are necessary. All three vaccines will be available, too.

Food Distribution Event

We will be teaming with Supervisor Sheila Kuehl’s office to host another food distribution event on our campus on Friday, June 11th. Stay tuned for more information.

Another semester of success for the greatest community college I know!

BELIEVE. ACHIEVE. SUCCEED. Make it a great end of term.

Be well. Get vaccinated.
