VETERANS' RESOURCE CENTER

Program’s Mission Statement:

The mission of the Veterans Program is to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education.

Program’s Description:

The Veterans Program promotes an attitude of collaboration within the campus and surrounding community to increase awareness and sensitivity to issues concerning veterans. The goal of the program is to create an encouraging environment by acknowledging, honoring, and addressing veterans’ unique needs, while helping them attaining their educational goals.

Program’s Learning Outcomes
The student will:
  1. Discover campus and community resources available to veterans.
  2. Demonstrate social responsibility through participation in Veterans Club activities.
  3. Demonstrate self-advocacy skills.

Starting the week of June 3rd, the Veterans Resource Center will be closed on Friday during the months of June and July.

VETERANS RETRAINING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (VRAP)
VRAP offers up to 12 months of training assistance to unemployed Veterans effective July 1, 2012.  Read more.

  • Orientation

  • VA Educational Benefits Certification

APPLICATION PROCESSGENERAL OFFICE INFORMATION

Step 1:  Complete the LACC college application.

Step 2:  Schedule an appointment to take the math and English
placement test.

Step 3:  Attend a college orientation and meet with an academic counselor to develop a Student Educational Plan.

Step 4:  Visit the Veterans On-Line Application (VONAPP) site to apply for benefits.

Step 5:  Complete a VA Contract and submit to the Veterans' Affairs Office.
