UB AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING
Our After School Tutoring Program has been going on since the beginning of the new year. It is mandatory for any student receiving a D or lower in any class or with a 2.5 GPA.
This program will be held once per week at each high school (see schedule below), and will incorporate tutors, the academic advisor assigned to that school, and UB director Michael Lopez.
The program will include various activities geared toward colleges, academics and FUN. Each week there will be something different, from presentations by college professionals to games and food. In addition to the activity planned for the day, at least one tutor will be available to students who need help with their homework.
Attendance is MANDATORY for any student receiving a D or lower in any class, and optional to every UB participant with Cs or higher. Jessica Sanchez, Maxine Estick or Drew Yamanishi will be checking to make sure that students with low grades or other "issues" are attending the After School program. This is another opportunity for all students to make weekly contact with their advisors and to have fun.
