Welcome to the LACC Transfer Center!

The Transfer Center at Los Angeles City College assists students with the process of meeting the requirements to transfer to four-year colleges and universities.  Students who plan to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher should take a pattern of courses designed to meet the lower division preparation for their intended major and general education requirements.

  • College Brochures:
The center carries a wide selection of printed pamphlets and flyers with information for CSU, UC, and private colleges.

  • Computer Lab & Application Assistance:
Students can research colleges & universities and submit online admissions applications in our computer lab in the Student Services Building.

  • Advising & Counseling:
General information on transfer and quick advising available on a walk-in basis. Students can also schedule an appointment with one of our transfer counselors (please call or visit the office for availability).

  • Workshops:
We host several workshops throughout the year. Topics include "Transfer 101", UC/CSU Application,  UC Personal Statement & Transfer Guarantee*

  • University Representatives:
The Center provides students with the opportunity to meet with college representatives on the LACC campus; visits are scheduled throughout the year*
  • College Fairs:
Every fall the Center organizes a college transfer day with representatives from local and out-of-state universities. The 2017 transfer fair will be held on September 19, 2017 10am-1pm.

Spring college fair: Wednesday, May 17, 2017, 11am-1pm main quad.

*Please check our calendar frequently for an updated list of scheduled events and activities.

California State University (CSU)

  • For fall admission, apply October 1 – November 30 (the year prior to your transfer)

  • For spring admission, apply August 1 – 31 (the year prior to your transfer). Note: Some campuses/majors may not open for spring admission.

University of California (UC)

  • For fall admission, apply November 1 – 30 (the year prior to your transfer). Application opens August 1.

  • For spring admission, apply October 1–31 (the year prior to transfer). Note: most campuses do not accept spring applications with the exception of UC Merced. Check with the admissions office at individual campuses.

Don't wait until you are completely finished with your coursework at LACC before you apply! If you are applying to CSU or UC campuses, required coursework may be in progress/planned at the time of application. Private schools such as the University of Southern California (USC) usually have later application deadlines than CSU & UC's. Check with each campus to verify application deadlines.

Online applications are preferred by most colleges. Many private & independent schools including USC, Pepperdine and Mount Saint Mary's use the Common Application. Students are encouraged to apply on-line on the following websites:
