Learning Community.....

The First Year Experience (FYE), a Learning Community at Los Angeles City College gives freshmen a unique opportunity to become more familiar with the necessary academic and social skills to be successful.

Students in the FYE take two-semester sequence of two common courses among their other courses. The FYE cohorts for 2010-2011 will be English, Personal Development, Math and Humanities.

How to register to an FYE Learning Community:

  1. Complete Los Angeles City College application.
  2. Submit FYE program application.
  3. Complete English and Math placement exams at the Los Angeles Assessment Center located in the Administration Building room 103.
  4. Contact Nellie Hernandez at (323) 953-4000 x1253 to schedule your first counseling appointment with the First Year Experience program as soon as possible as space is limited.
