Los Angeles City College is still one of the most affordable colleges nationwide. To determine a student's financial need, the financial aid office will take into consideration the student's cost of attendance and expected family contribution (see Cost of Attendance table below).

ENROLLMENT FEE $26 per unit

CA Residents - no maximum per semester


NON-RESIDENT TUITION FEE

Out-Of-State Residents *$188 per unit in 2009-2010

Foreign Citizens *$198 per unit in 2009-2010

Non-resident foriegn citizens must also pay the enrollment fee of $26 per unit

*Effective Summer 2009, The Non-Resident Tuition Waiver is Based on Three Additional Factors: 1) The Student Is A Citizen And A Resident Of A Foreign Country; 2) The Student is Legally Precluded From Establishing Residency in California; And 3) The Student Has An Individual Financial Need. To Qualify For The Tuition Waiver, All Three Conditions Must Be Met.

I-Med fees for International Students have also increased, to $438.00 for Fall and Spring Semesters, and $219.00 for Summer and Winter Sessions.


 

OTHER FEES INCLUDE:

Associated Student Fee - $7; Student Representation Fee - $1;

Health Services - $11; Parking Pass (Regular) $20 or (Preferred) $27


COST OF ATTENDANCE TABLE

The cost of attendance is based on the Student Expenses and Resources Survey (SEARS) data and updated for three years of inflation using the estimated California Consumer Price Index.

The following table shows the 2009-2010 Cost of Attendance budget for a student living at home with parents and a student living away from their parents:

The financial aid office may also add the following to a student's cost of attendance, if applicable:

  • Out of State Non-Resident Fee - $188 per unit (in addition to the $26 per unit fee)
  • Foreign Citizen Non-Resident Fee - $198 per unit (in addition to the $26 per unit fee)
  • Child Care cost - $1,000 annually
  • Direct Loan Origination/Insurance Fee - $66 annually or $33 (one semester)
