Steps to Success

Step 1   

Meet with Program Technician to register in the CRA Program (College Readiness Academy).

• ·            Mini orientation (Overview of program services)
• ·            Complete program and admission applications
• ·            Register for classes (Basic Skills Math and English)
• ·            Class Schedules
• ·            On campus referrals
• ·            Mini tour

Step 2   

Attend the class regularly. Classes are held Mon –Thurs from 9am-12 pm or 3-6 pm.

(Note: Student’s attendance is very important. Instructor may drop you for excessive absences)

Step 3

Attend our free Tutoring.

In addition to attending classes, students are required to attend a minimum of 2 hours of supplement activities per week which may include tutoring, time management, college survival, work preparedness, etc.

*Tutoring schedule will be posted inside the classroom.

Step 4

Attend all program workshops: Financial Aid, FYE, Registration, etc… 

Step 5

Take the Exam (For GED and CAHSEE students only).

Step 6

Make an Assessment appointment for Math and English. Go to AD 103 or go online to make your appointment at http://matriculation.lacitycollege.edu

- Provide proof of assessment scores.

Step 7

Sign-up for FYE Program (First Year Experience) for additional services: Priority registration, FYE counselor, learning communities courses, etc…

Step 8

Complete an Educational Plan with counselor.

- Provide proof of Educational Plan

Step 9

Register for credit courses for the following semester. 

Step 10

Complete an exit application and enter a new educational journey!
