LACC Names New Vice-President
of Administrative Services

            On April 1st, Bruce Baron will begin as Los Angeles City College’s (LACC) new VP of Admin. Services, bringing a wealth of finance and budgeting experience to the campus community.

“Bruce has 30 years in his chosen career of higher education administration both at the university level and the community college level,” said LACC President Dr. Jamillah Moore.  “He is no stranger to the L. A. Community College District, having worked as Vice President for Administrative Services at LA Southwest College.  We are glad to have him on board.”

Baron also worked for eleven years at the City University of New York, serving as Budget Director, Finance Director, Assistant Vice President and Vice President for Administration.   Since 2005, he has served as the Vice President for Administration in the Victor Valley Community College District in Victorville, California.

            Baron holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the City University of New York and a Master’s Degree in Adult and Community Education from City College of New York.  He has been working on a doctoral program in higher education administration with a concentration in computer information systems.  He is also working on a doctorate in natural health. 

“I am proud and excited to have been selected to work at this excellent institution of higher education,” Baron said.  “I look forward to a successful collaboration with faculty, staff and students to meet today’s challenges.”
