The Los Angeles City College’s Community Services program speaks to the heart of what the campus is all about – reaching out to the community and offering learning opportunities of all kinds, to all ages.   From cooking classes for 8-year olds to an elegant workshop on Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Whatever your interest, lifelong dream, or if you want to explore a new hobby, it’s here, it’s nearby, and it’s affordable.

FILMING LOCATION

Los Angeles City College has been used in numerous commercials, movies and other film projects. With buildings dating back to the late 1920’s and more modern structures, a variety of eras and looks can be captured at one location. The campus can provide a variety of classroom settings, offices, the look of sprawling lawns, urban settings and more. Adding to your convenience, we are minutes from the heart of Hollywood and conveniently located off the 101freeway at Vermont and Melrose.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING

For-Credit Courses: LACC has helped employers including the Los Angeles Police Department, the County of Los Angeles, and local hospitals provide credit courses for their employees and/or trainees. These credit courses not only prepare the employee/trainee for their job duties but also allow them to earn college credit toward a degree or certificate. Our Academic Affairs Office can work with your organization to structure a course of study.

EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT

The Los Angeles City College student body is one of the most ethnically diverse in the country. Our students are equally spread between ages 19-24, 25-34, and 35+. With a large population of mature students, you have access to a more mature employee with valuable past work and life experience. The campus is also ideal for recruiting bilingual staff as the majority of our students speak English and a second language including Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Armenian and Russian. Our educational programs include traditional liberal arts and math/science programs, business, office management (general/medical/legal), office software, computer technology, CSIT, nursing, dental technology, radiologic technology, fine and graphic arts, child development, cinema/television production, theatre production, photography, human services/psychology, journalism, and dietetics/food preparation.

TESTING CENTER

The Los Angeles City College Test and Assessment Center provides proctoring and testing services for private and public institutions on a contract basis.  The Assessment Center is located in the Matriculation and Assessment Office, Administration Building (AD) 103, for online as well as paper & pencil testing.  The Center is staffed by an Assessment Coordinator and several experienced part-time testing assistants happy to assist you with your assessment needs.
