The Lady Cubs fell behind 11-2 and never found composure during the rest of the first half. Grossmont led 38-19 at half time and that turned out to be the major difference. LA City played a close and tough second half in only being outscored, 30-25.
Freshman guard Latrice Klyce (Leuzinger HS) led the LACC assault with 26 points and nine rebounds.

After 10 consecutive games on the road, the Lady Cubs welcomed a return to The Gym. Un-fortunately, Taft College was equal to the task in pulling off an eight point victory over LA City.
“It was a tough loss for us considering we had looked forward to getting back on a friendly floor,” said Lady Cubs head coach Wendell Westbrook. “We’re making positive strides but it seems as if we take a step or two backwards at all the wrong times. That’s part of being a young team but I see improvement and we know where we have to improve if we want to regain a competitive stature.”
Freshman forward Antwanda Calvin (Locke HS) and Klyce each scored 10 points. A team total of 22 turnovers, however, proved to be the deciding handicap.
