By Naeema Mansur, student in a Basic Computer Skills class, taught by Vania Yalamova:
Sometimes you think you know a little about computers, and then all of a sudden, you are in a computer class like a deer caught in headlights; feeling confused and lost. With our teacher Ms. Yalamova, we were able to go slowly, but still stay on pace while learning the new skills she had to bring us.  The most useful part of learning these new techniques and shortcuts was that we were able to use them in our next class Inventory Management for Warehousing. As a matter of fact, I was able to show off a little at my new job by applying what I had learned.  Now that's what I call practical computer skills for the workplace.  I learned these skills right on time.  Ms. Yalamova has also inspired me to take another advanced computer class this semester.

I would categorize myself among those who did not care to attend any formally structured computer class and mostly depended on self directed learning. Well, that strategy left many holes in my knowledge and I often found myself bogged down and handicapped while navigating my way on the world wide web.

The Computer fundamentals class offered by Ms Vania Yalamova did in fact not only fill up those gaps in my understanding but gave me confidence to learn more in this field. I would recommend this class to anybody and sundry who can no longer avoid the use of computers for the future.
