Norman Mennes, Professor and Chair Emeritus, passed away Feb. 8 in Los Angeles. Norman taught at LACC in the Theatre Department from September 1954 through June of 1986 and continued to teach part time until 1996. During his career as a theatre teacher Norman was a Department Chair who taught, directed, and even designed countless productions. He touched the lives of thousands of students, training them as theatre artists, as well as the lives of community members who attended the productions he worked on. Norman loved the Theatre Academy and this college and delighted recently at our performance of All My Sons, saying “I feel like I am home in this building.”
