Performance Groups

The College Choir (Music 501) performs concerts of choral literature for mixed voices. (Open to all students.)

The Philharmonic Choir (Music 531) performs extended choral works for mixed voices. (Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Chamber Chorale (Music 561) performs concerts of choral music suited to a small group of singers.  (Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Chamber Ensemble (Music 705) performs recitals of major chamber music works. (Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Rehearsal Orchestra (Music 711) performs concerts of intermediate level orchestral works. (For students with intermediate ability and for those who wish to become more proficient on a secondary instrument. Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Community Orchestra (Music 725) performs concerts of major orchestral music. (Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Percussion Ensemble (Music 765) performs concerts of symphonic and commercial music. (Enrollment subject to audition.)

The Guitar Ensemble (Music 771) performs concerts of standard guitar ensemble literature. (If prerequisite ā€“ passing Music 650 with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better ā€“ is not met, enrollment subject to audition.)

The Studio Jazz Band (Music 781) performs concerts of standard jazz band literature. (For intermediate and advanced players. Enrollment subject to audition.) The Studio Jazz Band has been in existence since 1946 under the direction of Bob MacDonald, Robert Wilkinson, Woodrow James, Don Simpson, Laszlo Cser and Lori Stuntz.
