Suppose a clock is perfectly accurate, but has only an hour hand, no minute or second hand. What is the exact time when the hour hand is pointing at the 22 minute mark?

Solution:

The digit 4 on the face of the clock is at the twentieth minute mark, and the digit 5 is at the twenty-fifth minute mark. The twenty second minute mark is 2/5 of the way between the 4 and the 5. Since 2/5 of 60 minutes is 24 minutes, the time is 4:24.
