Associate of Science Degree Career Program
This curriculum is specifically designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and background necessary to become a dental technician in either a commercial dental laboratory or dental office laboratory. Good eye/hand coordination, communication skills and the ability to follow directions are requisites for successful entrance into this program.
An associate degree in Dental Technology requires successful completion of 77 course units, 59 units in Dental technology and 19 general education units

The minimum entrance qualifications are: high school diploma or GED and English proficiency equivalent to English 21 (English Fundamentals).
The Dental Technology admission selection criteria is based on successful completion of Dental Technology 100 with a grade “C” or better and the total points received from the practical test administered during DT 100 class.
The following courses are required for program admittance:
DT 100 - Introduction to the Dental Laboratory, during which a practical test is administered
DT 101 - Elements of Dental Technology
DT 102 - Dental Anatomy and Terminology.
Students that wish to continue their education may apply for the LACC/UCLA Master Ceramist Program.
