LEARN TO READ MUSIC
Have you always wanted to be able to decipher all those dots and symbols? This workshop is designed to help you read the universal language of printed music and translate musical notations to the instrument of your choice. Topics covered: notes, time-values, sharps, key and key signatures, scales, basic and applied harmony and ear training.

DRUMS FOR ADULTS & TEENS –BEG.
Playing the drums is a great way to have fun and to relieve stress. Learn to play popular drumbeat styles, such as Rock, Pop, Funk, and Blues, even in the first class. Learn how to read and write drum notation, as well as effective practice techniques. Bring your favorite CD’s to class; analyze and learn the drums of your favorite songs. No experience is necessary. Material fee of $10 payable in class. Ages: 12+.  Class held off-campus near LACC.

BEGINNING SINGER’S WORKSHOP
This class is provided in a safe environment and designed to encourage the hidden singing desire that many avoid due to fear and lack of guidance. Topics include: vocal technique, breathing, performance skills and developing audience rapport. Mel Dangcil is an excellent vocal coach and piano accompanist.  Minimum age 15. Musician’s fee of $10 payable in class. No class March 6 & April 3. Limited enrollment.

GUITAR MADE EASY
If you’ve been wanting to learn to play guitar, this class is for you! The guitar is easy and fun to learn and this class is designed to help you get the started off on the right track. You will learn about the guitar itself, tuning and minor maintenance and how to play single-note melodies and chords. Bring your own acoustic guitar. Material fee of $10 payable in class.

PIANO FOR ADULTS
Beginning piano students will learn how to read basic music notes along with proper finger and hand coordination. Both classical and popular piano repertoire will be introduced. Individual instruction is emphasized according to each student’s level of experience. Beginning piano workshop requires no previous experience. Intermediate Piano Class requires basic knowledge of music note reading and completion of beginner piano class. Students in the intermediate class will choose music comparable to their level. Ages 15+.   Class limited to 14 students.

BLUES HARMONICA - Beg.
Learn how to quickly and easily play Blues on your harmonica. 'Jam with others', make the harmonica cry, wail and alugh. Among the techniques covered will be: handling the instrument, breath control, maximizing volume and how to recall different notes. Material fee of $14 payable in class. You will need a 'C' major diatonic harmonica. If you don't have one, don't worry, the instructor will have them available in class for $11. Open to all.

HEALTHY HARMONICA
Breathing is our foundation when playing the harmonica. We will take the simplest ofpop, folk and blues melodies and invigorate them with simple but powerful techniques to make any song deeply expressive. No previous ability to read or play music - only a desire to have fun and feel more alive! Material fee of $12 payable in class. You will need a 'C' major diatonic harmonica. If you don't have one, don't worry, the instructor will have them available in class for $11. Open to all.
