SPANISH FOR EVERYONE - Beginning
An introductory class open to everyone wanting to learn the basic fundamentals of speaking Spanish. This class is also a good starting point for those professionals in social work, healthcare, teaching and everyday life. Emphasis will be placed on grammar, pronunciation, open dialogue and conversational exercises. Knowledge of Spanish not required. Material fee of $5 payable in class.  No class November 11.

SPANISH FOR EVERYONE – INTERM.
This class is a continuation of beginning Spanish for everyone, with emphasis on more advanced grammar and conversational techniques for the working professional, person who travels or just for fun & enjoyment. $5 material fee payable in class. 

ACCENT REDUCTION
An intensive seminar designed to assist the foreign born resident to improve English language clarity through easy accent reduction techniques. Develop the rhythm and proper speech sounds that will assist your career and in winning new friends. Material fee of $30 payable in class for booklets. Bring a tape recorder and a mirror.

ITALIAN FOR TRAVEL OR BUSINESS
Master the fundamentals of Italian as you learn useful phrases and idioms, correct pronunciation and practical vocabulary. Combined with an introduction of Italian civilization, this class will help you carry on a simple conversation on every-day topics, current events and cultural values. Material fee of $10 payable in class.  

CHINESE/MANDARIN FOR EVERYONE
Learn everyday Chinese/Mandarin thru speaking, reading, and writing with simple sentences. Class will focus on commonly used expressions needed in travel, business or everyday life. Guidance on developing writing and reading skills will be made available. Open to complete beginners.  Material fee of $6 payable in class.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE II
In this intermediate class you will further your instruction on American Sign Language (ASL) using basic vocabulary, sentence structure and conversation. Requirement: Knowledge of alphabet in ASL. Material fee of $10 payable in class. 

FRENCH FOR FUN 1
Learn basic survival conversational French. Students will work on individual pronunciation difficulties, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions. A panorama of the French culture and helpful tips for year-round travelers will be presented during each class meeting. Knowledge of French is not required. Material fee of $22 payable in class for cost of 2 phrase books, CD and handouts. $5 only if you have already purchased the audio set. Name of book is: Now You’re Talking! French In No time. FRENCH FOR FUN 2
Analytical lessons geared toward individual pronunciation, verb tense mastery in writing/answering questions, plus thematic/useful conversations and valuable cultural tips for inquisitive travelers will be the focus of this workshop. Material fee of $20 payable in class for cost of book and handouts. Name of book is: French Made Simple by Eugene Jackson/Antonio Ribio, ISBNO-385-26521-2 and can be purchased at Barnes & Nobles and Borders books. $5 Material fee payable in class if you have already purchased the book.  

CONVERSATIONAL GERMAN
Guten Tag! Learn conversational German – a language spoken by 100 million people – in this fun and easy seminar. No prior language training needed. Open t young adults 12 and over. Material fee of $8 payable in class.  Class is held at 3020 Wilshire Blvd.

JAPANESE CONVERSATION
Learn practical words and phrases, such as daily greetings, telling time, verb conjugation and basic sentence patterns to help you communicate in Japanese. Basic conversation on everyday topics and correct pronunciation will be emphasized. Material fee of $5 payable in class. Limited to 14 students. 

E.S.L. CLASSES

E.S.L. INTENSIVE I
This class is designed to teach English communication competence. Students will be introduced to basic English language skills such as reading, listening and speaking. The class will also cover the basic grammar points so that the students will be encouraged to use correct English. Material fee of $10 payable in class.  

E.S.L. INTENSIVE II
An intensive review of English as a second language fundamentals. Emphasis will be placed upon the following areas: conversation skills, pronunciation, accent reduction, vocabulary development and grammar review. Material fee of $10 payable in class.
