Veterans Resource Center



  • STEP 1) Use the Veterans Student Checklist to keep track of the documents you'll need to submit to LACC VRC.
  • STEP 2) Upload your documents and request certification through our Cognito webform.
  • You will receive a confirmation email after submission; if after 5 business days you can reach out to the school certifying officer for follow-up.
  • To ensure continuous benefits coverage, veterans and dependents must submit a cert request form for EVERY semester they wish to use GI Bill Benefits.
  • Students may request certification for GI Bill Benefits only AFTER enrolling into courses. Waitlisted courses will NOT be certified.
  • Changes to class schedule MUST be reported to LACC VRC (including but not limited to: adds, drops, change to P/NP, section transfer, etc). Failure to do so in a timely manner may result in an overpayment or underpayment from VA.

  • Per the VA, until December 2020, if a class has been converted from in-person to online as a direct result of COVID-19, then it will be certified as on-campus (resident) units.
  • For our course catalog, you tell which courses have undergone a conversion by looking at the listed class times:
    1. Courses listed with with specific meeting schedules (example: Tues/Thurs 2pm-4pm) were converted to online and so will be certified as RESIDENT units.
    2. Courses listed with self-paced hours (example: 10hrs/week TBA) were already intended to be online and so will be certified as DISTANCE units.
