Break It to Make It

Break It to Make It (BITMI) assists incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reintegrate into their communities and achieve long-term self-sufficiency through higher education. This program provides a variety of services using a collaborative model composed of internal support services at LA City College and external partners, including Homeboy Industries and The Midnight Mission.

With guidance and support focused on education and re-entry, BITMI participants will break free from the negative stigmas associated with incarceration to empower them to succeed in their academic careers and resume their lives as productive members of their communities.
