How To Apply as Full-Time Student

Admission Process and Required Documents: Please review the information below to understand the admission process to Los Angeles City College as a full-time F-1 visa international student. Los Angeles City College is required by U.S. government regulations to collect and review the materials listed below in order to issue the immigration documents necessary to obtain a student visa. All documents submitted for evaluation will become the property of Los Angeles City College and will not be returned to the prospective student.

2. Review the Checklists Below and complete all the required documents.

International Student Application Checklists

See the checklists (A) and (B) below, determine which checklist applies to you, and gather all the necessary documents. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE ISP OFFICE in order to be considered for admission as an F-1 student. The ISP office does NOT accept documents emailed or hand-delivered by students or other individuals.

(A) Students who are applying from abroad as new F-1 visa students must submit the following documents:
  1. F-1 Student Supplemental Application Form (fillable PDF)
    • Please use "Chrome" browser to open the form above. Using the Internet Explorer or Firefox browser may not allow you to type in and select options correctly.
  2. Proof of Funds - Financial Statement or Bank Statement obtained within the last 3 months, indicating the balance of at least $20,000 U.S. dollars.
  3. FInancial Support/Affidavit of Support Form
  4. U.S. dollars (USD) $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee - Please pay via your student portal 
  5. Official High School Diploma and High School Transcripts or college/university transcripts with official English translation
  6. English Proficiency Exam Score
  7. One passport-sized photograph (1 in x 1 in)
(B) Students who are currently in the United States on an F-1 visa and wish to transfer to Los Angeles City College must submit the following documents:
  1. F-1 Student Supplemental Application Form (fillable PDF)

  2. Proof of Funds - Financial Statement or Bank Statement obtained within the last 3 months, indicating the balance of at least $20,000 U.S. dollars.
  3. Financial Support/Affidavit of Support Form
  4. U.S. dollars (USD) $50 Non-Refundable Application Fee - Please pay via your student portal
  5. Official High School Diploma and High School Transcripts or college/university transcripts with official English translation
  6. English Proficiency Exam Score
  7. I-20 from current school and all of your previous I-20's
  8. Passport/Visa stamp
  9. I-94 (Arrival Record)
  10. SEVIS I-901 Fee Receipt
  11. If you have dependants, a copy of their documents and I-20's
  12. LACC tranfer verification form
  13. One passport-sized photograph (1 in x 1 in)
Accepted English Proficiency Exams and Scores:
  • TOEFL : IBT = 45 or higher; CBT = 133 or higher
  • IELTS : Grade 4.5 or higher
  • iTEP : Grade 3.0 or higher
  • EIKEN/STEP : 2nd grade or higher
  • MELAB : 75 or higher
  • Cambridge ESOL : FCE or higher
  • PTE Academic : 45 or higher

 

3. Mail all the originial documents to the address below:
