Favorite snack/food: Pappardelle Pasta and CHEESE!!!!

One interesting fact: I use to Hawaiian Dance for 8 years. 

Piece of advice for FYE students: Make sure to utilize the resources on campus, ask lots of questions and build relationships with students, professors and staff.

One interesting fact: I have double vision so I have to wear glasses to see singular images.

Piece of advice for FYE students: Whenever you have a question, make sure to get up and ask for help. Also, don't forget to get involved on campus so you can make amazing memories!

Favorite snack/food: Pizza

One interesting fact: I love sneakers and I like to collect, trade, and sell sneakers.

Piece of advice for FYE students: It’s ok to be scared, nervous, sad, anxious, troubled...at first. You got this! Try something new every semester like joining a club, making new friends, attending campus activities, passing classes with straight A’s. Find something that you like and stick with it.

Favorite snack/food: Rite Aid Pistachio Ice Cream and Sushi

One interesting fact: I still watch wrestling and I go to WrestleMania every year.

Piece of advice for FYE students: A wise man once said "Never Give UP! Never Surrender! To Infinity & Beyond! Whatever I do, I do it for the students, as I am a product of LACC and want to help students succeed.

Favorite snack/food: Sushi, chilaquiles, pad thai, and anything from Trader Joes's

 

One interesting fact: I have 1 cat and 20 plants in my apartment=plant cat lady

Piece of advice for FYE students: I like the quote "Luck favors the prepared" so the more prepared you are the more successful you will be. If you need help with preparedness find the people that will guide and help you stay on track! Use a planner and always stay on top of deadlines and activities to have a healthy life balance.

One interesting fact: I am a single parent of two (one is a teenager)

Piece of advice for FYE students: Enjoy your college experience. Get involved in student government and/or clubs on campus, it is a great way to get to know the campus, its resources, and peers, staff, faculty, and administrators. It is also an opportunity for professional and personal growth and development. Advocate for yourself and network!

Anna Reeves Anna Reeves

Major/Degree: AA in Social and Behavioral Studies, AS in Math and Science, Associate Degree in Sociology, Bachelor Degree in Sociology & minor in Child Development, Masters Degree in School Counseling (in progress)

Hometown: Camarillo, CA

Favorite snack/food: This is a tough one....pizza, tacos, and ice cream!

One interesting fact: I am a triplet. I have two sisters but we are not identical, they actually tease me for not looking like them! 

Piece of advice for FYE students: When you're stressing out, remember to look to the future. Whatever might seem impossible right now will one day be conquered. Look ahead at your goals and future achievements, and use that as motivation to keep on keeping on. Take advantage of all the resources LACC has to offer and if you feel like giving up, please do not. Lean on your professors, friends, family, and most importantly, your FYE Coach!

One interesting fact about me: I’m a mom of one furry monster named Max (the bunny) 

Piece of advice for FYE Students: Everyone struggles at some point through out college, but learning how to overcome those challenges will definitely help you throughout your life. Never give up, it’ll all be worth it at the end!

College: Currently a second year student at LA City College, I want to transfer to UC Irvine

Major: Political Science

Hometown: South Central Los Angeles, CA

Favorite food: Tacos and pupusas

One interesting fact: I’ve run the Los Angeles Marathon twice.

Piece of advice for FYE students: College will be filled with difficulties, hardships, and at times failure, but don't let that discourage you. It's alright to fail. Failure helps motivate us to do better.

One interesting fact: I’ve learned from all my failures and I like to grow from them.

Piece of advice for FYE students: Know your campus, there are so many resources on campus. Help is always there, you just have to put your effort and ask for help.

Piece of advice for FYE students:  Always check Ratemyprofessor before adding a class . Take advantage of FYE and complete as many units as you can .
