The LACC Online Academy

Earn an Associate Degree in Business or Psychology with our innovative, ONLINE program in just 22 months!

There are only a few requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Access to a computer with a web cam, internet access, and enough bandwidth to stream video
  • A high school GPA of 2.6 or higher -OR- at least 2 years of full time employment
  • Current California Resident

That’s it! You’re ready to get started. 

You take 4 classes during each fall and spring semester (two classes at a time for eight weeks each), plus one class each winter, and two classes over the summer, with one month off for vacation! If you successfully complete each of the classes, you will be finished with your degree in less than two years!

Graduates receive guaranteed acceptance into a Cal State University Transfer Program.

Applications for the Spring 2020 Psychology Degree are now closed. 

The next cohort for the Business Degree will begin in Fall 2020. Applications will be available in March, 2020. 

In the meantime, if you are interested in the field of Real Estate, you can earn a certificate and prepare for the California Real Estate Salesperson exam by taking three online classes at LACC – Real Estate 1, 3, and 7 – during the Winter Intersession and Spring Semester. No application is necessary. Exams must be taken on campus. For more information about licensing requirements, go to:

Step 1

Step 1: Apply to LACC

Complete the FREE LACC online application.

Please apply for Spring 2020 Admission and specify Psychology Associate of Art for Transfer option (Program: 200100 State Code: 32502) as your intended major.

Within two business days, you will receive a Student ID Number, which you will need to complete the other steps.

Step 2

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid

If you are interested in receiving financial aid:

Complete the FAFSA Application (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Additional Financial Aid opportunities may also be available for qualified applicants.

Step 3

Step 3: Complete the LACC Online Academy Application

Apply to the LACC Online Academy.

Step 4

Step 4: Submit Any Outside Transcripts

If you have taken any college classes outside the Los Angeles Community College District, please request an unofficial copy of your transcripts, scan or take a photo of them, and email them to: and to Be sure to include your name and Student ID (beginning with 88 or 90) in the email.

This will determine if there are any courses you may be able to skip, and may also have an impact on your financial aid eligibility.

Step 5

Step 5: Complete Online Orientation

Complete the Online Orientation Module through the Student Information System.

Within two weeks of your program application you will hear from the program as to your admission status.

Step 6

Step 6: Create an Educational Plan

Once you are accepted into the program, you will be instructed to contact the program counselor to finalize your educational plan.
