Computer Forensics I (Section 24600 - 3 units)

(Formerly CO TECH 029 - Introduction to Computer Forensics)
This course introduces the concepts of Computer Forensics and how forensic techniques are used in the investigative process. Topics include the analytical and investigative techniques to identify, collect, and examine and preserve evidence/information which is magnetically stored or encoded. Also covered is the recovery, analysis, and presentation of computer-based information in a way that ensures the integrity and security of data so that it can be used as evidence in a court of law.

Asynchronous - ONLINE ONLY
Textbook and lab materials through and Netlab. All Netlab passwords, usernames, and the URL will be given to students during the first week of class.
