Welcome to my webpage!

The Current Courses tab on the left lists the courses I teach, primarily ESL writing and reading, as well as Introduction to Linguistics (LING 1), Sociolinguistics (LING 2), and Psycholinguistics (LING 3).

Teaching and Faculty Service describes my teaching experience and academic service at the Los Angeles Community College District, including the redesign of the districtwide ESL curriculum and the development and adoption of new courses at LACC.

The site’s Research Activities section lists my publications and presentations. In 2018-19, as a Andrew W. Mellon Fellow, I participated in the development of new undegraduate curriculum development at UCLA. This fall, I am delighted to give a guest lecture funded by an NSF-AGEP grant at UC Santa Barbara on "Linguistics Curricula and Pedagogies in Community College Settings."

In 2020, I will be moderating a panel on engaging ESL and multillingual students at AWP 2020, the nation's largest literary conference. Later the same year, I will be presenting a paper on critical theory studies in language teacher education at the World Congress of Applied Linguistics (AILA 2020), based on my chapter  on this subject from an academic volume coming out the same year from Routledge Press.
