Welcome to my webpage!

The Current Courses tab on the left lists the courses I teach, primarily ESL writing and reading, as well as Introduction to Linguistics (LING 1), Sociolinguistics (LING 2), and Psycholinguistics (LING 3).

Teaching and Faculty Service describes my teaching experience and academic service at the Los Angeles Community College District, including the redesign of the districtwide ESL curriculum and the development and adoption of new courses at LACC.

The site’s Research Activities section lists my publications and presentations. I am currently working on two research projects: undegraduate curriculum development at UCLA, and contributing a chapter  to an academic volume on critical theory studies in applied linguistics, forthcoming from Routledge Press in 2019.

A special topic of interest is the pathways from non-credit (adult ed) to credit ESL programs and the wider programmatic challenges ESL programs are facing statewide. California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (CATESOL) has been a major advocate for the preservation and growth of ESL in California, and I am honored to have served for four years as its Community College Listserv Coordinator.
