Associate in Arts for Transfer Degree

The Philosophy Associate in Arts transfer degree is designed to prepare the student for transfer to the California State University (CSU) system of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy lower-division requirements for a baccalaureate degree in Philosophy.

AA-T Requirements

You must complete 60 transferrable semester units of coursework to earn this degree, 18 of which come from the Philosophy department. You can read more by clicking the middle icon above, which will lead you to the college catalog.

Here are the criteria for meeting those 18 major units:

MAJOR CORE COURSES (6 UNITS):
Philosophy 1 Intro. to Philosophy, 3 units
OR
Philosophy 20 Ethics, 3 units

AND 

Philosophy 8 Deductive Logic, 3 units
OR
Philosophy 9 Symbolic Logic, 3 units
LIST A: SELECT ONE OF THESE COURSES (3 units):
Philosophy 14 History of Modern European Philosophy, 3 units
Philosophy 20 (if you didn't use it in place of Phil. 1 above) Ethics, 3 units
LIST B: SELECT TWO OF THESE COURSES (6 units):
