First let's take a look at the latest program updates. As of March 14th,

2020 the Los Angeles Community College District ordered all campuses to

move to online learning due to the coronavirus outbreak

and you can join it anytime. Text books and instructional material are provided to the student.

The classes are open to the general public meaning there's an open entry open exit policy.

So if a class you saw online already,

Guarded no worries. You can still join the class if maybe you have a

sickness during the middle of the semester

and can no longer attend.

That's okay too. You can leave the class with no penalty another basic about our program.

Is that everyone in the community can enroll in our classes ,adults ,college

students ,community members even high school students.

They'll just need to fill out a supplemental application in addition to enrolling

in these classes students can still enroll in credit classes

so you can be enrolled in credit and noncredit.

Take classes during the same semester

Another great page is a frequently asked questions for students here.

You can get any questions answered we have basic questions.

Like, how can I get a laptop? How can I contact the college etc.

and now we're back at the home page?

Step 1 LACC admissions application.

This is the first step to becoming a student here at the college.

You must apply online on our website after you apply.

It takes a couple days for your student ID to be created.

Certificates.

We offer a plethora of certificates that will make you job ready to enter the

industry of your choosing. Our most popular include In Home Supportive Services ,Workforce Literacy, Hospitality, Customer Service Skills, English

as a Second Language ,Civics and much more.

Grades.

Along with receiving certificates come grading.

We have three grading options available that you can possibly

Receive. A pass is satisfactory completion of a

course satisfactory progress is satisfactory progress towards completion of a course

and no past means did not complete the course satisfactory. In order to receive the certificates that I mentioned you do need to receive a passing grade along with other requirements

or recommendations.

Although you do receive a grade classes, they are repeatable.

So, no matter the grade you receive you can repeat that course.

There is no limit to the amount of times you can take a

noncredit course. Attendance is very important.

Make sure you attend class everyday, complete your homework assignments,

and see your teachers course syllabus for more information about how they grade.

Due to covid-19 all classes will continue to be completely online.

What does that mean for you? This means instead of reading with your teacher in person.

You'll be learning via the Internet. Our program uses two main tools for online learning canvas

and zoom. Here is a photo of our students from the hospitality program in their Zoom class.

Even though you will not be able to meet with us in person,

you can work from any device. You can access canvas

and zoom from your iPad tablet desktop computer or laptop.

While you will not be learning in person we still need to uphold program conducts standards.

We're going to watch a video that explains

what type of student conduct is needed for online education.

Since online interaction is a significant part of our daily

routines knowing exactly how we communicate

during our online interactions can be the difference between being understood

or misunderstood. The set of rules that help us govern online interaction is referred to

as netiquette.

Netiquette is to put it simply etiquette for the internet.

It includes guidelines and good practices

for online communication and emails discussion forums and chat rooms.

In other words, it means using good manners

when you communicate in your online courses

because most online communication is through type

content and the reader doesn't have the ability to see the

writers facial expressions, here their tone of voice,

or interpret body language this can lead to misinterpretation of the message

and may result in frustration anger and hurt feelings in your online courses.

You'll be required to communicate often with your

peers and the instructor and to avoid miscommunication,

you should follow the principles of netiquette in all your online communications.

Technology Help.

What if you don't know how to login?

Where can you get technology help? Help can be received in a few different ways.

You can visit our LACC noncredit YouTube channel where we post different video tutorials

and how-to guides. Another way

you can get help with technology is by visiting our Facebook

and Instagram page. On Facebook and Instagram

we post videos on the same topics.

Another one we have is zoom.

If you feel more comfortable talking to a person face to face

while at least virtually, you can log onto our Zoom room. Here a person can help you on

a specific problem that you might have.

Questions.

If you would like more information or have questions there are many ways

you can contact us. The first way is by telephone.

for English and Spanish you may call this number
