Earth Science

The discipline of Earth Science includes the subjects of Geology, Oceanography, and Earth Science. 

  • Geologists study the solid Earth, including Earth materials, Earth history, and the internal and external Earth processes. 
  • Oceanographers study the oceans, including their physical structure, chemical structure, and unique lifeforms. 
  • Earth Scientists study the components of the Earth system and their interactions, including the geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere. 

Current Earth Sciences courses include Geology 1 (Physical Geology), Geology 2 (Earth History), Geology 6 (Physical Geology Laboratory), Oceanography 1 (Introduction to Oceanography), and Earth Science 1 (Earth Science).
