Student Leadership Academy

Vision: The Leadership Academy will empower students through the development of leadership skills and encourage students to approach leadership and engagement through many types of civic engagement: from politics, to community organizing,to volunteering, to being a good neighbor.

Mission: The Leadership Academy intends to further students’ intellectual, personal, and professional development through co-curricular programs, services, and workshops that are designed to provide purposeful, challenging, experiential, and reflective learning opportunities. The Office of Student Life at Los Angeles City College models inclusive learning by guiding students to engage in and integrate their in-class and out-of-class learning. Through these efforts we strive to enhance their leadership identity, community involvement, and commitment to social responsibility in order to build the leaders of today and tomorrow.
