Mission Statement:

The mission of the LACC PRIDE Center is to acknowledge, promote and advocate for our LGBTQIA+ community members and allies. with a focus on closing the achievement gaps and removing barriers to student success. 

We embrace that our work is ongoing, and our language is ever evolving. 

Preferred Name Process 

LACC recognizes that transgender and gender non-conforming students may decide to identify themselves with a preferred name that differs from their legal first name given at birth. Students can watch this video to learn how to change their first name in the SIS system.

LGBTQIA+ Upcoming Events:

  • Spring 2024 – Opening of our LACC Pride Center at the Stdent Union - TBA
  • LGBTQIA+ Ally Trainings - TBA
  • California Community Colleges - LGBTQ+ Summit 2024 will be held virtually April 24 - 25, 2024. The Summit is a space for students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators to focus on this year’s theme: “Rise, Resist, Empower: The Unstoppable Movement for Queer & Trans Liberation.” FREE Student Registration: https://californiacommunitycolleges.cventevents.com/2024LGBTQSummit 
  • LACCD Annual Lavender Graduation 2024 - May 17, 2024 at 4:00pm. The graduation event will be at Los Angeles Mission College 
  • Pride Event on Campus - June, 2024 (Date TBA)
