Assessment Process

Please note that placement tests (Accuplacer) for course placement into ESL courses will no longer be administered come Winter 2020 session and going forward.  There is a new ESL guided self placement process for an ESL course placement recommendation.  The process involves completing a guided self-placement survey and submitting a writing sample. The process will take place approximately one hour to complete.

You will take a basic skills assessment in reading, writing, and language usage for ESL course placement This is not an entrance exam to the college and you will not be penalized in any way for your course placement. However, it is a very important step in the enrollment process.

You can go to the Assessment Office, 2nd Floor Student Services Building, counter #22, 23, or 24 for assistance on the assessment and course process for English, ESL, and Math.

Please note that the online system will only allow you to sign up for the ESL (English as a Second Language) Test. You can also sign up for the ESL test at the Assessment Office. Remember there is no longer an assessment/placement test for English and Math.

For ESL ONLY, schedule an appointment online
