Faculty Canvas Training for the Temporary Transition to Online Education

In preparation for transitioning many of our courses to online next week there are a number of trainings to assist faculty not yet trained on Canvas basics.

3-Hour Face-to-face Trainings on Campus

The face-to-face trainings here at LACC will be held in AD 300 and conducted by Rob Sambrano, Adrian Brown, and other members of the Distance Education Committee. You need to reserve a space through the VRC by clicking on “Calendar” and then clicking on the desired training session.  We will be able to use additional lab space to accommodate all interested faculty.

Friday, March 13 from 9:00 - noon
Saturday, March 14 from 9:00 – noon
Monday, March 16 from 9:00 – 12:00, 12:45 – 3:45, and 5:30 – 8:30
Tuesday, March 17 from 9:00 – 12:00, 12:45 – 3:45, and 5:30 – 8:30

Additional Training Options

  • You can self-enroll in the LACC online training course, “Canvas Basics: Introduction to Teaching Online,” which is contained within an LACC Canvas shell. Please follow this link:
    You will be asked to log into PeopleSoft and will then be brought to the Canvas page and will have the option to click on the “Enroll in Course” button.  
  • You can do an online training through, which is available through the VRC. Once you log into PeopleSoft, click on the VRC button and then “Training Search” and then type in “Lynda learning canvas 2018.”
