  • Mentored students get better grades
  • Building a personal and professional network
  • Better stress management and mental health
  • Meeting fellow students and teachers
  • Experiencing a safe group of people
  • Receiving free education and life coaching
  • Learning from an expert’s experience, vision, and advice
  • Reducing isolation and increasing success

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring can be described as the method of upgrading the Person and the Process to achieve Performance, leading to a holistic improvement in both outcomes and behavior. Mentoring values and expresses individual growth, strengthens relationships, and increases your connection and commitment to your chosen field of study.

What Will I Receive?

At the beginning of the semester, you will attend a mentoring kickoff event where you will be paired with an LACC professor and learn about the mentoring process. Throughout the semester you and other mentees will meet at least four times, up to eight hours, with your mentor.

How Do I Apply?

Applications for spring 2019 are closed. Applications for fall 2019 will be available in late August.
