Articulation - n.
The act or the state of being jointed.

Articulation is the process by which community college courses are granted appropriate credit at CSU / UC campuses and private universities. Articulation is faculty and curriculum driven--specific to the community college, the receiving University, and the major—per transfer course agreements (TCA’s). We cannot determine that a course will satisfy transfer requirements based on the title alone, all of which is subject to the University conferring the degree.

The Articulation Office has final review of all transferable courses and deems, oversees and maintains LACC's repository of approved courses and credit by exam from other accredited institutions and agencies. Namely, how courses and exams from other institutions can apply credit towards both local graduation and university transfer purposes. In accordance with applicable LACCD board rules, administrative regulations, California Educational Codes, CSU, UC, and private university transfer policies, the Articulation Office provides a scaffold to assist counselors, faculty, students, deans, Curriculum and Admissions to navigate course review (i.e., credit applications and limitations).

The Articulation Office makes no guarantees, either express or implied, with respect to information available over the Internet from other colleges or entities and is not responsible for any such inaccuracies or misrepresentation of information with respect to LACC courses, prerequisites, programs of study, graduation requirements, and transfer to Universities.
