Internship and Student Employment (CGCA) Opportunities

Overview

The Academic Counseling department provides internship and student employment opportunities for individuals who are interested in the field of community college counseling.

The Counseling Internship is unpaid and provides individuals who are are enrolled in or have recently obtained a master's degree in counseling or a related field with an opportunity to gain exposure to the field of academic counseling under the supervision of a counseling faculty member. 

The Career Guidance Counselor Assistant (CGCA) position is a paid student employment opportunity available to students who are enrolled in a graduate program in counseling or a related field.

We are no longer accepting 18-19 AY applications for CGCA positions.

Counseling appointments are made in person Mondays, beginning at 8:30am in the Student Services Building, 2nd floor (Assessment Office) or online Tuesdays beginning at 5:00pm.

 Office Hours

Summer (June 4 - Aug 10):
Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Friday: 9:00am - 2:00pm
Saturday: Closed

Note: For "Express" Walk-in counseling, please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing time.

 Announcements

To clear a prerequisite, you may bring an unofficial college transcript to the counseling department during walk-in hours.


To change a major and educational goal, you may bring the form to the counseling department during walk-in hours.
