Counseling Appointments

Due to the high volume of students who would like to schedule a counseling appointment, we are implementing a priority system for appointment scheduling to best meet student needs.

Please view the list of dates and categories below to determine when is the best time to set your counseling appointment. Appointments are scheduled no more than one week in advance by visiting us in person during regular business hours (SSB 2nd Floor) or by calling 323-953-4000 Ext 2250 (you may call anytime during regular business hours, but Mondays & Fridays are best).

*Students can check appointment availability at any time, but priorty will be given to the groups listed


Appointments available between
Monday, September 9 - Friday, September 20:

PRIORITY GROUP: Financial Aid Extension Appeals, Academic & Progress Probation, Academic Dismissal


Appointments available between
Monday, September 23 - Friday, October 4:

PRIORITY GROUP: Student Education Plans (SEP) for students who have completed 30 or more semester units


Appointments available between
Monday, October 7 - Friday, October 18:

PRIORITY GROUP: Student Education Plans (SEP) for new/continuing students who have completed less than 30 semester units


Appointments available between
Monday October 28 - Friday, November 7:

PRIORITY GROUP: Graduation Petition for fall 2019* (Students completing requirements for AA/AS/AA-T/AS-T degrees by end of December). 

*Graduation Petition Deadline is November 15.


Extended Express "Drop-In" counseling will be available between
Tuesday November 12 - Wednesday December 18:

PRIORITY GROUP 1 (November 12 - November 14): Graduation Petition for students completing requirements for AA/AS/AA-T/AS-T degrees by end of December 2019.

PRIORITY GROUP 2: Students who do not have a current SEP and need course advisement for winter/spring 2020 enrollment and/or review of completion of transfer requirements by end of spring 2020.

Note: Wait times may vary due to high demand. 


After you schedule your appointment:
  • Please arrive and check-in at Window #19 or 20 on the 2nd Floor of the Student Services Building (SSB) 5 minutes prior to your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled and/or re-scheduled
  • Bring unofficial transcripts if you have attended colleges/universities outside LACCD
  • If you are a NO SHOW twice in a semester, you will not be able to book another appointment for the same semester without approval from the Department Chair.

Monday & Tuesday: 9:00am - 6:30pm
Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 9:00am - 2:00pm

Note:
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing for Express Counseling services

 Announcements

Office will open at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 14. 


To clear a prerequisite, bring an unofficial college transcript to the counseling department during walk-in hours.

To change a major and educational goal, you may bring the form to the counseling department during walk-in hours.
