Home of the National Math Champion in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014

LACC’s Math Team has consistently placed in the top 5 out of around 200 colleges in the National American Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges Competition (AMATYC) in recent years.

Our faculty and staff are complemented by 12 new fully-equipped computer labs with extended hours and all required software.About Our Department

The Department of Mathematics (Math) / Computer Science Information Technology (CSIT) / Computer Technology (CT) / Computer Applications and Office Technologies (CAOT) prepares students for careers in math, computer science, computer technologies, and computer office applications. We have 32 full-time faculty and more than 50 adjunct faculty that come from 15 cultural backgrounds. All the programs in our Department are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Mission Statement

The mission of the LACC Department of Mathematics / Computer Science Information Technology / Computer Technology / Computer Applications and Office Technologies to build an in-depth academic foundation for students to be able to transfer to four-year institutions, enter a vocational program, or seek employment where they would utilize their knowledge and training attained in our department.
