Presidents Message

President Mary GallagherIn 2018, I had the honor of becoming Interim President in January, then in July permanent President of Los Angeles City College.

Established in 1929, Los Angeles City College is one of the oldest of the California Community Colleges. Located in the heart of Hollywood, LACC provides a dynamic innovative learning environment offering more than 100 vocational and professional programs including degrees, transfer programs and certificates in disciplines to more than 18,000 students. In 2019, LACC will celebrate its 90th anniversary.

Included in this Annual Update is a sampling of the many things we accomplished in the 2017 – 2018 academic year. I look forward to the many transformations that we are planning for next year and the years to come that will distinguish LACC, The City’s College, as the destination for students to believe, achieve and succeed.
