Students on stage at the Ten Minute Play Festival

At KCACTF there are lots of resources for acting students like workshops and auditions for theatre companies. One LACC student was able to take advantage of that and participate in a ten minute play.

How it works:

  • The Kennedy Center allows people around the nation to submit ten minute plays they have written
  • Each region picks 5 out of the hundreds that are sent in
  • At the Festival, hundreds of students audition
  • A select few are chosen to rehearse and read the plays for an audience on the last day of the festival

I was able to attend the productions and watched such beautiful and moving pieces brought to life. Due to my status as a competitor in Irene Ryans, my schedule didn't allow me to audition, but I was happily in the audience to support a fellow actor. It's opportunities like this that can inspire other actors or playwrights to submit their work. One integral important reason to go to KCACTF.
