News and Events for the week of June 3

Good Monday Morning:

Congratulations! To the entire LACC community for working very hard this year. This Tuesday, our graduation ceremony not only celebrates the achievements of the Class of 2019 but also our achievements as educators, administrators and staff. I am so pleased to let you know that we have increased on all fronts this year: the number of students earning certificates, the number of student earning AA degrees, and the number of students earning transfer degrees. Way to go! We expect to top the number of graduates participating in graduation by at least 200 this year. And we have over 120 faculty, staff and administrators planning to participate in the graduation ceremony. We truly are a great college!

Please be sure to join us on Tuesday, June 4 at the Greek Theatre to celebrate our students’ accomplishments. The festivities for the faculty, staff and administrators begins at 3pm on the Redwood Patio at the Greek. It is a beautifully renovated and expanded gathering area, with some of the furnishings made from the remains of a fallen tree. There will be plenty of space to gather and enjoy each other’s company. The graduation will begin at 5pm.

One more piece of great news is that our enrollment is up for both summer (at 101%) and fall (105%). City is on the move!

Summer School Enrollment

We still have seats in many of our summer school classes. As the spring semester officially ends today, please encourage students to enroll in both summer and fall 2019 classes.
