Nutrition Classes Open for Spring 2019!

LACC Students hard at work in the Food LabLACC’s Dietetic Service Supervisor (DSS) Program prepares students for entry-level management opportunities in a food service department.

If you are planning a career in food services, the LACC Dietetic Service Supervisor Program, with Dietary Manager Exam eligibility, may be the pathway to your success.

Most Certified Dietary Managers work in healthcare settings such as nursing homes, long-term care facilities, senior living communities, and hospitals. In these settings the Certified Dietary Manger is involved in nutrition screening, documentation, and care planning for patients and residents.

FAM & CS 021: Nutrition

Learn the 6 classes of nutrients and their effects on health and wellness. UC and CSU Transferable.

Two class times available: Monday and Wedensdays 9:35-11:00 am, or Monday and Wednesdays 11:00 am-12:35 pm. Childhood Development Building - Room 215

FAM & CS 024: Food Preparation

Apply the principles of Food Science in the lab. Learn new cooking skills, improve current culinary skills and eat great food! UC and CSU Transferable.

Thursdays 9:35 am-3:10 pm Admin Building - Room 200 (Foods Lab)
